Technical Director Job Posting

Job Overview                                                                                                   

The Technical Director will work in conjunction with the Club Manager and be responsible for leading the daily operations and technical staff of all Dunbrack player and coach development programs.

Nature and scope of work                                                                                           

  • Facilitate and create the club’s Technical Development plan
  • Support club technical coordinators with the implementation of the club’s technical plans
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to coaches year-round ensuring best practice formats are being followed
  • Educate and promote Long Term Player Development (LTPD) best practices
  • Educate and promote Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia Player Pathway
  • Educate and promote Canada Soccer and Soccer Nova Scotia Coaching Pathway
  • Deliver a Club Prospect Program and serve as the head coach
  • Act as the chief spokesperson for the club on technical development matters, including external liaisons with Soccer Nova Scotia and Leagues under the auspices of Soccer Nova Scotia
  • Provide feedback and select coaches within the club
  • Act as technical resource to all coaches within the club
  • Manage and organize player placement sessions
  • Coordinate the allocation of practice facilities for the club’s teams
  • Maintain membership in the club’s LTPD Committee
  • Monitor technical competencies for Canada Soccer Club License Program
  • Provide in-season assistance to all HDSC Coaches

Required Skills                                                                 

    • Excellent people skills
    • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to attract, motivate, develop, and retain staff
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word and Excel
    • Demonstrated proficiency in social media applications including Twitter and Facebook
    • Ability to work as a Learning Facilitator, or willingness to acquire the necessary skills
    • Working knowledge of the Canada Soccer Association (CSA) LTPD curriculum
    • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks on and off the field of play

     

Required Training and Experience                                                                          

  • CSA National B License or in process to obtain such
  • Experience in player development activities
  • Experience in coach education would be an asset
  • Prior work experience as a soccer technical director preferred

Compensation                                                                                                 

Salary will be commensurate with experience
