Seven Nova Scotia Clubs Awarded Canada Soccer Club Licensing Designations
Soccer Nova Scotia, in partnership with Canada Soccer, proudly announces that seven of its member clubs have been granted various levels of Canada Soccer Club Licensing designations as part of the September 2024 cohort. We congratulate these clubs for their dedication and hard work in reaching these prestigious milestones in the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program.
These seven clubs join other Soccer Nova Scotia member clubs already achieving Canada Soccer Club Licensing status. Out of 43 youth member clubs in Nova Scotia, 39 have now attained a Club Licensing designation, showcasing a strong commitment to the development of soccer in the province.
Canada Soccer’s Club Licensing Program is a standards-based initiative designed to guide clubs toward excellence in on-field and off-field operations and promote best practices for organizational development.
Recognized Clubs and Licensing Levels
The following Soccer Nova Scotia organizations have demonstrated exceptional commitment and diligence to earn the National Youth Club License, Member Association Level 1, and Quality Soccer Provider designations. Their efforts have helped provide all participants a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
National Youth Club License:
The Canada Soccer National Youth Club License (NYCL) is the highest honour, recognizing top-tier organizations nationwide. These clubs exhibit excellence in governance, administration, infrastructure, and technical programs, and they actively support the Canada Soccer Pathway and Player Development Program. Soccer Nova Scotia is thrilled to announce that Suburban FC has become the first club in the province to achieve the NYCL designation, formerly MA1 status. We extend our sincere congratulations to Suburban FC for their dedication and hard work in earning this recognition.
Member Association Level 1:
The Provincial/Territorial Youth Club License – Level 1 (MA1) recognizes clubs with strong governance, operational excellence, and commitment to providing a high-quality grassroots, community, and competitive soccer experience. These organizations have shown leadership in developing well-rounded programs that enhance the participant experience. We are proud to recognize Halifax County United, Inter Halifax, South Shore United FC, United DFC, and Valley United SC for achieving this designation and joining Halifax City and Cape Breton FC in earning the MA1 status, which is a requirement for all youth AAA clubs before the 2024/2025 indoor/outdoor season
Quality Soccer Providers |
The Quality Soccer Provider (QSP) is the entry-level designation in Canada Soccer’s National Youth Club Licensing Program. Clubs awarded this designation meet essential standards for providing developmentally appropriate, safe, and inclusive environments. Kings West Soccer Club has worked diligently to achieve this designation, and we applaud their efforts in delivering a positive soccer experience for their participants.
Looking Ahead
Soccer Nova Scotia will continue to offer year-round support and guidance to all member organizations as they strive to meet Canada Soccer’s Club Licensing standards.
