Soccer Nova Scotia is proud announce the addition of two new members to the staff and the reassigning of another.
These additions will allow Soccer Nova Scotia to service their members more effectively with the exciting changes of Canada Soccer’s Club License.
Matt Holton – Talent Development, Club License Consultant
Matt has worked as the Grassroots & Community Development Officer for Soccer Nova Scotia since 2017, assisting in providing resources and leadership in aligning programs in the principles of Long Term Player Development. Matt brings SNS valuable experience and is well known and liked within the soccer community. Matt in his new role will lead the pillar of Talent Development for Canada Soccer’s Club License program. Matt’s start date in his new role will be Sept. 4 with him transitioning out of his existing role over the next couple of months.
Julia Burton– Grassroots Development, Club License Consultant (replaces Matt Holton)
Julia joins Soccer Nova Scotia Development team after working with Halifax County Soccer Club as Grassroots Technical Lead where she managed and designed program from U4-U12 including the promotion of the club in near by communities. Julia is an ex Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial player alumni and graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After graduating Jacksonville, Julia had professional opportunities leading and supporting the Women’s Soccer program as an undergraduate assistant along with supporting local soccer in Jacksonville with the Armada Football Club. Julia in her new role will lead the pillar on Grassroots & Skill Centre development for Canada Soccer’s Club License program. Julia’s official start date in this position will be Sept. 4.
Nino Kovacevic – Strategic Development, Club License Consultant
Nino is well known at Soccer Nova Scotia as since August 2015 he has served as the Regional Technical Director for the Highland Region. Before arriving to SNS, Nino worked as Program Director (Grassroots program) at Halifax Dunbrack Soccer Club. Nino has a Bachelors degree in International Development Studies & a Certificate from Saint Mary’s University of Human Resource Management, a Canada Soccer National B Licence, SNS Provincial B license and an accredited NCCP learning facilitator. Nino in his new role will lead the pillar on strategic club development for Canada Soccer’s Club License program. Nino’s official start date in this position will be Sept. 4.
