Soccer Nova Scotia – Call for Nominations
Soccer Nova Scotia is a community-driven, nationally recognized leader in developing and growing soccer. This is a unique opportunity to help build vibrant communities through a player-centred approach embracing the values of fair play, respect, and a passion for the game of soccer.
This is an exciting opportunity to help Soccer Nova Scotia grow the game and implement its strategic direction. SNS fosters inclusivity and has a province-wide impact by supporting players, coaches, officials, leagues, and club development. With an emphasis on implementing a women-in-soccer strategy targeting all game levels, SNS requires volunteer leadership positions to achieve our vision.
The Soccer Nova Scotia Nominations Committee’s current call for nominations is for the following five Board positions:
- Vice-President:
- 3-year term
- 4 Directors:
- 3 positions for 3-year term
- 1 position for 2-year term
To ensure we have a diversified representation of expertise and background, Soccer Nova Scotia Nominations Committee is seeking qualified candidates who are passionate about the growth and development of soccer in our region and have an area of expertise in:
- Risk Management
- Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility (EDIA)
- Infrastructure & Development
- Finance
- Corporate/ Sport Governance
- Government Relations
- Environmental, Sustainability, Governance (ESG)
Soccer Nova Scotia values diversity and welcomes nomination submissions from individuals across Nova Scotia, particularly rural regions, including the Valley, South Shore, Highland, and Cape Breton.

- Three (3) references
- Current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check documents (myBackCheck.com) must be completed within the last six (6) months.

The Soccer Nova Scotia Board of Directors is accountable for the stewardship of the organization governing soccer in Nova Scotia. Directors shall serve without remuneration and shall not receive any profit from their positions. However, a Director may be paid reasonable expenses incurred in performing their duties.
The Soccer Nova Scotia Executive Director and President will support and orient new board members to ensure the best board governance practices.
