Soccer Nova Scotia Welcomes Canada Soccer’s 2023 Toyota National Championships Jubilee and Challenge Trophy Competitions

(Halifax) – Soccer Nova Scotia is thrilled to announce that it will be hosting the highly anticipated 2023 Toyota National Championships Jubilee and Challenge Trophy competitions from October 4 to October 9, 2023. This exciting event will take place at the Mainland Commons in Halifax, providing soccer enthusiasts with a week filled with unforgettable moments.

The 2023 Toyota National Championships will feature ten teams per gender battling it out in two thrilling divisions to claim the ultimate national glory. The women’s adult teams will compete for the prestigious Jubilee Trophy. The final match for the women’s division will take place on Monday, October 9 at Mainland Commons 2, kicking off at 9:30am AT (8:30am ET / 5:30am PT).

On the men’s side, the teams will compete for the Challenge Trophy with the men’s final happening on Monday, October 9, at 12:30pm AT on Mainland Commons 2. In total, 20 adult teams will compete in Halifax, making it a true soccer extravaganza.

Returning to defend their 2022 title, Holy Cross FC of St. John’s NL, will be among the women’s teams vying for the Jubilee Trophy. Their presence adds an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the competition.

Uniquely this year, there will be two teams from Halifax competing on the men’s side. Suburban FC won the Nova Scotia provincial title earlier this summer over Western Halifax FC. On Thursday, October 6 at 6:30pm AT will feature the battle of Nova Scotia, with a re-match of the provincial final.

The Western Halifax FC team is the last men’s team from Nova Scotia to win a national title. Four members of the 2017 championship team are returning to the field in 2023, in addition to head coach Alan Jazic.

The action-packed event will see local women’s team Dartmouth’s United DFC and Quebec’s Griffons CS Mont-Royal Outremont at 4pm on October 4. This thrilling clash promises to be an exhilarating display of skill and determination, as both teams have shown their true potential throughout the league season.

Following the women’s match, the men’s competition will commence with a match between Suburban FC and Newfoundland and Labrador’s Feildians of St. John’s at Mainland Commons Field 2 at 6:30 pm on October 4. This highly anticipated showdown between two talented teams will provide an intense and exciting start to the tournament.

Tickets for the tournament will be available for purchase at the main gate of Mainland Commons throughout the duration of the event. Both weekly and day passes will be available, allowing fans to experience the matches and support their favourite teams.

Soccer Nova Scotia invites everyone to join them for this incredible soccer celebration and witness the passion and talent displayed at the 2023 Toyota National Championships Jubilee and Challenge Trophy competitions.
