Soccer Nova Scotia has opened a call for nominations before its Annual General Meeting to fill roles on its Board of Directors beginning June 2024.

Soccer Nova Scotia is a community-driven, nationally recognized leader in the development and growth of soccer. This is a unique opportunity to help build vibrant communities through a player-centered approach embracing the values of fair play, respect, and a passion for the game of soccer.

This is an exciting opportunity to help Soccer Nova Scotia grow and implement its strategic direction. SNS fosters inclusivity and has a province-wide impact by supporting and developing players, coaches, officials, leagues, and club development. SNS requires new volunteer leadership positions to achieve our vision.

The Soccer Nova Scotia Nominations Committee’s current call for nominations is for the following five Board positions:

  • One (1) Vice-President (one-year term)*
  • Four (4) Directors (three-year term)*

To ensure we have a diversified representation of expertise and background, Soccer Nova Scotia Nominations Committee is seeking qualified candidates who are passionate about the growth and development of soccer in our region and have an area of expertise in:

  • Risk Management
  • Corporate Business
  • Strategic Planning
  • Marketing & Communications
  • Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA)
  • Infrastructure & Development
  • Facilities Management
  • Human Resources
  • Finance
  • Legal or Regulatory Knowledge

Soccer Nova Scotia values diversity and welcomes nomination submissions from individuals across the Province, particularly rural regions such as the Valley, South Shore, Highland, and Cape Breton.

If you share the passion and vision to grow and develop the game of soccer in Nova Scotia, please submit the following five (5) completed documents via email to nominations@soccerns.ca no later than 5:00 p.m. AST on April 18, 2024.

The Soccer Nova Scotia Board of Directors is accountable for the stewardship of the organization governing soccer in Nova Scotia. Directors shall serve without remuneration and shall not receive any profit from their positions. However, a Director may be paid reasonable expenses incurred in performing their duties.

The Soccer Nova Scotia Executive Director and President will support and orient new board members to ensure the best board governance practices.
