Soccer Nova Scotia (NS) is excited to announce the launch of the Grassroots Development Program (GDP). Over the last few months we have been reviewing the feedback received from our clubs & working to improve the grassroots soccer experience for all of our members across the province. This new program led by Soccer NS staff will support clubs in developing & improving both their programs & coaching standards, which will ultimately improve the grassroots membership experience for all.

The GDP is open to clubs, but will mainly be focussed on clubs in rural communities, without full time staff. The initiative will be led by Zach Bauld, Director of Grassroots & Community Programming.

The Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards have been designed to create the best possible learning and development environment for all young players in Canada.  The Grassroots Standards are based on global best practice while taking into account the realities of Canadian soccer.  As adults, it is our responsibility to ensure that all of our children are able to enjoy soccer in a safe, fun, accessible, inclusive and developmentally appropriate environment.
