Departure of Nino Kovacevic as Director of Club and Coach Development

With mixed emotions, we inform you that Nino Kovacevic will be stepping down from his role as the Director of Club and Coach Development as of February 15, 2024. Nino has been an integral part of Soccer NS since 2018. His contributions have been invaluable to the growth and success of soccer in Nova Scotia.

He has made significant strides in shaping SNS’s club and coach development programs during his tenure. Some notable achievements under his leadership include laying the foundations for club licensing in the province. Nino played a pivotal role in developing the strategy and early implementation of club licensing and rebuilding the grassroots coach development infrastructure, making the program more accessible through embedded Learning Facilitator development initiatives. He ensured that Soccer Nova Scotia’s advanced coach education courses were built around the adult learner’s needs and led the girls’ Rex program from 18’ to 20’.

While we are saddened by Nino’s departure, we are grateful for his dedication in shaping the coach development and education programs and leading the creation and delivery into what they are today.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nino for his contributions to Soccer Nova Scotia and wish him the very best in his future endeavours. We are confident that he will continue to impact the adult and organizational development space at Barefoot Facilitation positively.

Soccer NS is committed to finding a suitable candidate who can build upon the foundation laid by Nino and continue to drive the growth and development of our club and coach education programs. We will also keep you updated on any developments regarding the selection process for new leadership within the Soccer Development department.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your continued support and look forward to working together to take our club and coach development program to new heights.
