On behalf of the Soccer Nova Scotia Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsay MacAskill as our newly appointed Executive Director (ED) of Soccer Nova Scotia, effective immediately.

Lindsay joined the Soccer NS team in November 2015 and has been interim ED since October 2022. Lindsay has developed and executed operational and strategic plans, managed organizational change, and implemented innovative programs, policies and competitions. She excels at engaging and building relationships with members, multiple stakeholders, sport leaders, and diverse partners. In addition, she has experience creating an organizational culture for members, staff, and volunteers within the sport sector.

Before joining Soccer NS in 2015, she worked in Sport Development and Marketing for Sport Nova Scotia. Before Sport Nova Scotia, Lindsay led seven venue operations teams with the 2011 Canada Winter Games Host Society. In addition, she was a Venue Operations Manager at Whistler Olympic Park with the VANOC team for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

“This year, we will present our new strategic direction. This will be the roadmap we will use over the next three years to remain impactful, to grow the sport, and to bring us closer to realizing our vision–a community-driven, nationally recognized leader in the development and growth of soccer,” said MacAskill. “Our plan will ensure we are moving forward while fostering inclusivity, allocating resources equitably and creating accessible changes so we are closer to achieving our vision.”

As Executive Director, Lindsay will lead the organization, ensuring Soccer NS advances its mission, operations, and strategic direction. Along with Soccer NS members, partners, and stakeholders, she will develop a strategy for growing the game while addressing current and future challenges.

Please join us in welcoming Lindsay MacAskill as Soccer Nova Scotia’s Executive Director.
